Of the Rs16.79 billion allocated to 22 federal projects in Gwadar for 2025-26, Rs5.36 billion had been spent by mid-April 2026, according to APP, which cited official documents. The gap between what is allocated and what is used is a better test of a headline than the allocation itself.

The Totals

APP reported on 16 April 2026, citing documents from Wealth Pakistan, that 22 development projects in Gwadar had a combined cost of Rs184.2 billion. The federal government allocated Rs16.79 billion to them for the 2025-26 fiscal year, and Rs5.36 billion had been spent so far. The projects cover infrastructure, energy, maritime, education and social sectors, at various stages.

The Rs25 billion Gwadar Development Authority business plan had Rs75 million released and used from a Rs250 million allocation.

How to Read These Figures

Spending shows that work was paid for, and a large project with low use is moving slowly. These figures run to 30 March 2026, so later numbers will differ. For a buyer, the point is to ask whether a project has money released and work on the ground before you pay a premium for it.
