LDA City is the Lahore Development Authority’s own housing project, and its land acquisition and balloting have a long history of delays. In October 2026 the LDA’s director general reviewed land acquisition at the site after a newspaper report raised alleged irregularities. If you hold or plan to buy an LDA City file, check its status with the LDA, not with a seller.

What the October 2026 Reports Say

The News reported on 4 October 2026 that Director General Tahir Farooq visited LDA City and reviewed land acquisition and development work, following a The News report about alleged irregularities in the acquisition process. Officials said acquisition in Mouza Toor Warraich was progressing rapidly and briefed him on Mouza Haloki. He directed them to take special measures for acquisition in the other mouzas and to keep development work running. Zameen.com carried a similar report the next day.

Earlier Reports on Land and Balloting

Zameen.com reported that the LDA planned to acquire 13,000 kanals for the project and had acquired more than 11,000 kanals when the National Accountability Bureau asked for a progress report on land, development work, file holders and payments to development partners. Zameen.com’s reports on balloting describe repeated delays and several ballots, including one that assigned plot numbers to 3,887 applicants. Those reports are older, and we did not find a 2026 balloting schedule.

Checks Before You Buy a File or Plot

Ask the LDA for the status of your file and whether a plot number has been allotted in a ballot. Ask which sector the plot is in and what stage land acquisition has reached there. Do not accept a seller’s screenshot as proof. Ask for the allotment letter and compare the name and file number with the LDA record. Rules on files and certificates also changed in 2026, so read buying a plot in Lahore in 2026 and stamp duty and transfer costs in Lahore before you pay.
