Ravi City is the planned new city along the River Ravi, run by the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), a body set up in 2020. It has its own approvals, its own master plan and a record of legal challenges, so a plot there needs different checks from one in an LDA society.

Approvals and the Master Plan
Profit reported in July 2024 that RUDA approvals had started to replace LDA approvals on some private housing societies, and that each approval had to align with RUDA’s master plan. Eco-Business reported that plots appeared to be on sale at Chahar Bagh, a gated community built by RUDA, and Zameen.com reported that RUDA opened booking there. Zameen.com also reported that RUDA launched a 9 km expressway linking Lahore with Ravi City through Chaharbagh, and planned a bridge and road network linking Shahdara and Saggian to the M2 Motorway. Aaj News reported on 18 October 2025 that the Punjab chief minister directed that Phase 1 be completed within two years and asked for early completion of the RUDA primary dam.

Confirm the approval with RUDA directly, not through the seller. Ask which phase the plot is in and what has been delivered on the ground. Ask for the status of any court case that touches the land.
